Chinese Corner
Chinese Corner
Chinese Corner is a Chinese Immersion program hosted by the Summit Free Public Library and led by the volunteers of the Chinese Club. It is currently held in person on the 2nd and 3rd Sundays of every month during the school year and will be on hiatus over the summer. Our group of dedicated volunteers of all ages have created lots of fun and engaging topics for all ages, including games, contests, stories, talent shows, and more!
Starting the fall of 2022, we'll make the following adjustments to the form and contents of the Chinese Corner:
Sessions on the 2nd Sunday of each month (3:30pm - 4:30pm) will remain to be in person Chinese class/activities for children k-5.
Sessions on the 3rd Sunday of each month (3:30pm-4:30pm), will be an in-person Chinese Calligraphy Workshop for people who are interested in traditional Chinese calligraphy to meet. The Chinese Calligraphy Workshop is open to all calligraphy enthusiasts of any age and skill level.

October 2022: History Reenactment – Battle of Red Cliffs (Chibi)
In 208 CE, by the Red Cliffs (Chibi) on the Yangtze River, one of the most famous battles in the history of China was fought. The Battle of Red Cliffs (Chibi) is the turning point in the conflict between three major warlords who controlled different parts of China at the time. Why is it famous? What’s the impact it has on Chinese history? One of the most important battles, borrowing arrows with straw boat, also happened then. Do you want to learn about, and more importantly act out, this period of history? Whose side would you want to be on, Cao Cao from the north (please wear blue), Sun Quan from the east (please wear red), or Liu Bei from the southwest (please wear green)? You are invited to join Evelyn, a girl who’s fascinated by Chinese history, to reenact it together!
Please fill out the Google Form below to indicate your interests in various roles in this story, especially if you are interested in playing out the leading roles (曹操,周瑜,鲁肃,黄盖,诸葛亮,关羽). We are excited to share the script and fill you in with more details!
Let’s “make” history, and make it great!

He has taught over 100 online drawing lessons in the past three years, with a wide range of topics that include but not limited to history, science, architectures and so on. He is good at guiding the kids to draw while making up a story. The students usually find it is fun to learning a lot of fun facts while creating an art work.
